All I have (had) to start with is two brothers Thomas Tinsley and David Luther Tinsley, the "Elder" in Wilkes County, NC.

Thomas Tinsley married Susannah Kilby, but she was the widow of Michael Kilby. She was the daughter of Walter Brown and Mary Pilgrim who reported to be natives of England and immigrants to America. More later.

Michael Kilby died1798/99 (estate administered 4 FEB 1799). By Michael Kilby, Susannah had two sons and six daughters. As these are not Tinsley's they are probably not important to you. By her second husband, Thomas Tinsley, whom she married 27 JAN 1800 (bond), she had two daughters, Margaret P. Tinsley (b. 4 FEB 1801) and Rachel Tinsley.

Margaret Tinsley m. 5 JAN 1819 (bond), Nathaniel Vannoy, son of John Vannoy and Elizabeth Kilby, the latter being a neice of Michael Kilby's through his brother, William Kilby, Sr. I do not have their issue, but I can get it. I have all the Vannoy Newsletters ever printed and I am sure they are in their.

Rachel Tinsley m. 19 JUL 1819 (bond) Lovel Dogan Kilby, son of James Kilby and Margaret Robins, and grandson of William Kilby, Sr., above and his wife Frances Eddins.

Meanwhile, David Luther Tinsley, The Elder (so-called, I don't know why), m. Nancy Kilby (28 OCT 1818, bond, 18 years after his brother's marriage to Susannah, maybe it was May/Sept thing). Nancy Kilby (b. 17 SEP 1798) was the sister of Lovel Dogan Kilby, so I will not repeat her ancestry here. I have no record of any of his children, but there are soom good publications on Wilkes County Heritage.

The wives of William Kilby and his brother James Kilby (who remained in Culpeper Co., VA whence William and Michael, along with Adam Kilby, came) were cousins, being granddaughters of Stokely Towles and Ann Vallott of Middlesex Co. Another daughter of Stokely Towles was Frances Towles who married Richard Vawter. They had a daughter Margaret Vawter who m. John Breedlove, so she does not appear to "your" Margaret Vawter wife of Thomas S. Tinsley. Richard Vawter who m. Frances Towles may, however, have been a sister of your Margaret. I have no info on his predecessors. It is interesting to note that many of these families originated in Middlesex Co., VA Craig Kilby.

You need to add Rachel Tinsley as a daughter of Thomas and Susannah (Brown) Kilby, The two daughters were by the first wife, not his second wife (Margaret Robins Kilby).
