In Vol III #7 of the Central Kentucky Researcher (July 1973) appeared this little blurb on the burial place of these SHIPP family members:
"SHIPP Family Cemetery. Located on present DURRETT farm about 3 miles South of Magnolia, KY in Hart Co. This area was the original Shipp settlement when they migrated to KY from VA in 1784 (*I have data that shows Pittman Crk in Green as the first stop of record--RF)......It is not known just how many are actually buried in this cemetery, but 6 gravestones were found--that of John SHIPP, one of the original settlers, 2 of his sons, their wives and a grandaughter. Some of the graves are enclosed with an iron fence. Copied by Beatrice LAMKIN and Anna Mae HIGGASON, June 1973. Cemetery noted in bad condition, stones broken, covered in underbrush.
Headstones were for John SHIPP, Wyatt SHIPP, Polly wife of Wyatt SHIPP, Richard SHIPP, Sally Mardis SHIPP Richard's wife, Mary Ann SHIPP wife of J. L. LAMKIN.
